Um, yep Obama is out of touch

The picture introduces this interesting article in the New York Times that this left leaning Obama supporter (Frank Rich) headlining his piece Has a ‘Katrina Moment’ Arrived? I suppose that is what happens when the actions do not match the rhetoric. Most people can tell when the talk becomes cheap no matter what your political leanings … My hope would have been his actions against what he promised to be a bit more conservative, because TRUE conservatism is best for everyone, but alas no he is letting others really run the “show”. The interesting part of all this is he is starting to alienate his own supporters.
In addition to Rich’s article, you can see hints of this in a recent Camille Paglia Salon piece (page one mostly) Heads should roll. These are a few people on the left who are waking up, I doubt they will get through to our president.
Here is an awesome article from Andrew Breitbart:Dreaming of President Petraeus and an American surge It is an excellent summary of what is going on with Obama. I just found this quote below an interesting irony to which I wholeheartedly agree.
What is scaring us – even though many of us won’t admit it – is that we elected a president who wants more than anything to be liked.
I agree with the growing premise that Obama is worried about his image more than he is ready to get to work. the media made the mistake in the campaign to treat him softly so he does not know how to deal with the hard stuff, which is sad really because the media did a much better job of that with Palin… now that Obama is less and less coddled he is not sure what to do.
Why else would he be eager to get to Hollywood to give us some more campaign rhetoric? Why else would he call the NYT to explain he is not a Socialist (Article : Obama makes Oval Office call to reporters –h/t Michelle Malkin) These kind of actions remind me of Meghan McCain recently in her quest to get back into the limelight… to Meghan, move on. Obama, suck it up cupcake, get to work and realize you need to be true to your word. This leaves us with this current administration’s goals…(from the Breitbart article)
Let’s create more government dependency, reward the incompetent and print more money.
That’s doubling down on stupidity.
We “little” people are smarter than you give us credit for and this type of direction will never do. Obama it is time to really get in touch.

I’m not sure Obama was ever *in* touch. He was just given a free pass during the campaign. His “spread the wealth” comment was enough to let you know he’s not in touch with any group outside those wealth envy Michael Moore types standing outside the homes of the AIG executives saying “Money for needy, not money for greedy”. Those who want to take from the producers and give to the looters is just further evidence “Atlas Shrugged” is a vision of the not so near future.

I finally have that book [Atlas Shrugged] in my possession will be starting it soon!
I am just surprised he is not even in touch with his base, I guess he does not retain what he reads in his teleprompter.

He was never in touch with anyone, he simply spewed back what his people told him to say. They were better than the republicans during the campaign but they simply had NO clue how to do anything other than repeat the same rhetoric that would lull the ignorant masses. Now that he actually has to deal with reality, he and his people are completely lsot. They’re just imbeciles and it’s showing.
Unfortunately the uneducated people are still willing to be duped and follow him. People are truly pathetic and they’re taking this country down with them.

About the Author:
Skousen authored The Naked Communist and was the source of the publication “1963 Communist Goals” list. He later wrote a follow-up, The Naked Capitalist, based on Carroll Quigley’s assertions made in the books Tragedy and Hope and The Anglo-American Establishment, which claimed that top Western merchant bankers, industrialists and related institutions were behind the rise of Communism and Fascism around the world.
In June 1935, immediately after graduating from San Bernardino Valley Jr. College, where he served as Student Body President, Skousen began working for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration. This led into a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) the following year, which lasted until 1951.
Skousen attended George Washington University Law School, graduating with an LL.B. in June 1940. He had already passed the Washington, D.C., Bar Exam. In 1972, recognizing the sufficiency of his law school studies more than 30 years earlier, his law degree was upgraded to Juris Doctor (J.D.).
After the American election of 1980, Skousen was appointed to the Council for National Policy, a think tank of influential politicians, scholars and academics that lent support and advice to President Ronald Reagan-s administration. Among the many solutions Skousen proposed included suggested programs to convert the Social Security system to private retirement accounts and a plan to completely wipe out the national debt. Skousen was never a tax protestor but campaigned for several proposals to eliminate the federal income tax, including the famous Liberty Amendment, which among other things, would return federally owned land to the states and preclude the federal government from being involved in any activities that competed with private enterprise.
